API instructions

MELODA 4.10 API is a crappy, dirty  read-only,  API allowing three instructions ( Version 0.1) . More questions here (you have to sign up).

  • TEXT: allows you to find if a standard of your dataset is already registered (and therefore provides you with a weight for the reusability metric). In case not use this form and it will be assess to be included)
  • WEIGHT : To determine the weight of a dimension of MELODA depending on the Level achieved by the dataset
  • MELODA: Provides with the figure and logo to attach to a dataset

TEXT

http://meloda.org/api/api410.php/TEXT/text-to-find

TEXT: Literal “text” . It does not matter capitals or not.

text-to-find: Any string of characters defining a standard. missing standards report it here.

Example http://meloda.org/api/api410.php/TEXT/csv returns

{“value”:”0.60″,”result”:true,”parameter”:”2″,”level”:”3″,”parameter_text”:”technical_standard”}

value 0.60 weight of the level 3 of parameter technical standard

WEIGHT

http://meloda.org/api/api410.php/WEIGHT/param/level

WEIGHT: Literal “weight”. It does not matter capitals or not.

param, the text or the number (both work) of the parameters according to next table

_______________________________________________________________________

1 – legal // 2 – technical standard // 3 – access // 4 – data model // 5 – geolocation // 6 – timeliness

_______________________________________________________________________

level a number between  1 and 5 depending on the dimension (remind that technical standard only has 4 levels)

Example http://meloda.org/api/api410.php/WEIGHT/3/2 returns

{“value”:”0.10″,”result”:true} corresponding to the weight 0.10 3rd parameter requested (access according to the upper table) and 2nd level in this dimension. Further explanations can be found in the MELODA METRIC

MELODA

http://meloda.org/api/api410.php/MELODA/l1/l2/l3/l4/l5/l6/

MELODA: Literal “MELODA”. It does not matter capitals or not.

l1..l6, the levels for the six dimensions of the dimensions of MELODA METRIC 4.10

_______________________________________________________________________

1 – legal // 2 – technical standard // 3 – access // 4 – data model // 5 – geolocation // 6 – timeliness

_______________________________________________________________________

level a number between  1 and 5 depending on the dimension (remind that technical standard only has 4 levels)

Example http://meloda.org/api/api410.php/MELODA/5/3/3/5/3/4 returns

{“value”:71.62,”result”:true,”logo”:”http:\/\/www.meloda.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/good_data_reuse_meloda_yellow.png”}

corresponding to the MELODA METRIC final value 71.62, T

the link provides this logo  meaning the level of reusability.
